After short times at art college, he studied for two years at The Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, then travelled extensively in Italy studying the early frescoes. In 1987 made his first carvings in wood, first exhibited at Trinity College, Dublin, and his paintings have been exhibited widely.
He has had ten one-man exhibitions in London and elsewhere in Britain. His work has been shown in many mixed exhibitions including The Royal Academy and The London Group. With both of these his work travelled on tours throughout Britain. His paintings and sculpture are represented in many private collections in Britain, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Canada and the USA.
From 2010 he worked on a series of paintings entitled 'Conversation.' The theme of a male and female figure together. A catalogue book, 'Conversation,' is published showing some of the paintings and studies from this series.
He has also made a number of paintings on the theme of 'Rehearsal.'
More recently he has explored the freedom of structure and colour. Many of these works are shown on the Paintings page.
